In A Hurry – Here’s My #1 Push Cart
The Sun Mountain Speed Cart GX is the most impressive golf push cart on the list. This is because it’s lightweight, fun to use, folds away with ease and has excellent storage. It’s amazing to think that this model was first introduced in 1999 and paved the way for the foldable golf push carts on the market today!

My Experience with Golf PushCarts...
Walking is my favorite way to get around the golf course. In my opinion, it’s the best way to enjoy the game in its purest form. You can’t beat a few hours of getting some exercise and talking with your buddies while playing the greatest game in the world.
I enjoyed doing this while carrying, but as I’ve gotten older, it’s become more tiring (and I play a lot of golf). I got to a point where I was only playing a couple of times a week and still felt beat down.
Buying a golf push cart changed everything… I suddenly knew what all the hype was about.
Since buying a pushcart I feel SO much fresher, there’s less wear and tear on my body and I have a ton more energy.
This also showed in my scores. I found that by the 14th or 15th hole when I was carrying I’d start to wear out. The pushcart has given me a second wind and I find myself able to close out rounds way more consistently.

This thing is absolutely tiny when you fold it away; it’s almost surprising that something so sturdy and well-built can physically be reduced that much. In terms of use, it’s a lightweight cart that feels easy enough to push, with a handbrake that's helpful for preventing any embarrassing mistakes.

Benefits of golf push carts
You should only get a golf push cart if you’ve got a solid reason to. They can be pretty expensive after all. However, I wasn’t even aware of how getting one would benefit me until my body physically told me to stop carrying a bag so much. I’m going to dive into a few of the reasons that I believe most golfers should be using pushcarts, starting with one that I wish I knew sooner.
Good For Your Back & Shoulders
Plenty of people who don’t play golf would laugh at you if you called it a physically demanding sport. However, those of you who carry will have a heavy bag on your back for hours on end. The only real break you get is when you’re taking a shot, which is a highly intense movement in itself.
Studies that have been published like this one show that carrying a golf bag can be hazardous for your lower back, shoulders, and ankles. This makes a lot of sense, and when I think back, the main areas I felt pain in were my lower back and shoulders, especially the shoulder on my dominant side.
I don’t know about you, but maintaining a balance between golf and my health is CRITICAL.
Firstly, as much as I love golf it takes me away from my family. That means when I’m with them I need to be firing on all cylinders and having easily preventable injuries from golf would be stupid. Another reason that I’m conscious of avoiding injury that I’m sure many of you can relate to is longevity. I want to be playing the game that I love for the rest of my life. What’s the use of having to quit golf in my 60’s all because I put my body under unnecessary stress in my 30’s?
It Can Save You Money (in riding fees)
Although buying a golf push cart does require a little upfront investment, I found that buying one actually saved me money in the long run. This was because on days that I was feeling too tired to carry, or the weather was just too hot I’d pay to ride in a golf buggy. When you play as much as I do, this is an expense that can quickly add up.
Something that I’ve noticed since having a pushcart is that I don’t feel the need to rent a buggy anymore.
Even when the weather’s hot I’m happy enough pushing my cart and enjoying the round, instead of quickly whizzing through the round in a buggy that I rented. Although using a buggy costs money, it does save time. If you ask me that’s not a good thing. I believe it takes away from the full experience of golf, and I like being on the course for as long as possible (unless it’s because of slow play).
Comes In Handy On A Rainy Day
Although they don’t typically come as standard, there are umbrella holder attachments that fit most push carts out there. When buying my pushcart I didn’t realize how much this would benefit me, but boy did it! By the end of my carrying days, I was finding it pretty awkward, what was even more awkward was when it rained.
It’s bad enough having to hold an umbrella over your head while carrying a golf bag. When you play your shot an umbrella is one extra thing to put down and pick up, and sometimes gets blown away by the wind.
Push cart umbrella holders are awesome. Not only does it hold your umbrella for you, it turns your cart into a safe haven. There’s no need to run to the nearest tree and take cover anymore!
What to look for in a golf push cart
I felt overwhelmed when I was looking for a pushcart because there are just SO many options out there. I’ve rounded up what I think are the best golf push carts around, but there are still some important considerations you should make before buying one.
Storage
Storage is usually king when it comes to folding push carts. You want to make sure you get something that fits in the back of your car comfortably with plenty of room to spare. From what I’ve seen, manufacturers are always looking for innovative new ways to make their push carts even more compact.
Before you buy yourself a pushcart, make sure you measure the inside of your car in the area that you plan to store your cart. Account for the other things that need to go in there too like your golf bag and shoes. Be sure to check the folded dimensions out on the manufacturer’s website before you commit to buying one.
Cart storage
The best push carts will have plenty of storage and allow room for a range of possessions from golf balls to your scorecard and even beer coolers! I’m a fan of having secure storage compartments so you can put your valuables somewhere safe and easy to access.
Maneuverability
Being able to move the push cart easily is the name of the game. You’re getting one to reduce stress and strain so it’s important you choose a cart that’s light and easy to move on the golf course. All of the carts that I’ve mentioned in the article have good maneuverability, but if you’re looking at a cart that’s not on the list be sure to read some reviews first. Remember, you’re going to push this thing up hills and in thick rough so you need to know it’s not difficult to push.
Brakes
This is a really important point, especially if your course has a lot of slopes. Whether it’s a hand brake or a foot brake you’ll be glad you got a push card with some sort of a braking system. I’ve seen plenty of guys chasing their pushcarts after leaving them on a slope, some even ending up in the water!
Easy fold mechanism
Look out for push carts that are labeled easy fold/open. These are designed to save you time and effort when it comes to opening and closing your push cart. Although the majority of push carts aren’t that difficult to open or close, ones that are designed to be simple are in my opinion the best. If you’re impatient like me, you’ll value any precious seconds you can save yourself in the parking lot.
Room to accessorize
Make sure that your push cart allows accessories to be attached as you never know what you could find useful one day. Umbrella holders, cell phone holders, and even seats are examples of accessories that can be added on to push carts to improve your golfing experience. It’s important you consider what you want to get from your push cart before you buy it so you can check if it comes with or has suitable accessories available.
Push Cart Etiquette
One of the most important things you can do before taking your push cart out onto the course is to do a little homework on etiquette. Golf is a sport that’s known for being classy and the last thing you want to do is upset people, especially not the greenkeepers!
The single most important rule for using a golf push cart is that you never take it on the green. The damage an unrepaired pitch mark can do is one thing. People dragging their carts over the green can be devastating and cause real damage. Before you mark your ball and putt, make sure you take your push cart around the green towards the next tee box. Don’t leave it directly in front of the green and unnecessarily slow the group behind you down.
It’s also important that you look out for notices and signage that displays whether you can use push carts. I was playing golf in the UK a while back and found that due to the poor weather conditions push carts or trolleys as they’re known there had been banned. With the course suffering from bad weather conditions, allowing golfers to push their carts around would have caused some serious damage.
Be careful where you leave your cart when it’s parked up. Some push carts don’t come with brakes so they rely on you to leave it parked on flat ground. Even if you can’t find flat ground make sure that you park it across the slope so it can’t roll away. 9 times out of 10 it would be hilarious to see someone chasing after a cart, but it’s important to remember that something or someone could get badly injured if they got hit by one.
️ - How many miles does a golfer walk in 18 holes?
This depends on how long your golf course is, as well as how good at golf you are. Players take very different routes across a golf course depending on how many shots they have hit. Experiments have shown golfers walk up to 7.8 miles (around twice the course’s yardage!) during a round of golf.
Frequently Asked Questions
While it's not a long-term solution, you can try a service like Smile Renewed with very little money and that can get you by for a while, and at least it will look like a natural tooth.
The easiest way to strengthen a weak tooth is to use a fluoride rinse on a daily basis, brush multiple times per day and avoid sugar as much as possible.
While you can't fix a tooth longterm at home, you can do a few things to help.
For cosmetics, use a product like Smile Renewed. For strength, avoid sugar, and use a good fluoride rinse. For pain, use advil (ibuprofen).
️ - Is it better to push or pull a golf cart?
Information from Sun Mountain who know all about golf carts, states that golfers are better off pushing the cart than they are pulling it. This is because it’s far less taxing on a golfer’s shoulders, which are better used in the golf swing and become fatigued from pulling a golf cart around.
