The Best Left-Handed Golf Clubs & Sets

Learn more about our team of experts & our testing process here.

The majority of golfers play the game right handed. In fact, it's estimated that only 5-7 percent of golfers in all of North America are lefties. This means that from the millions of clubs that get manufactured in bulk each year, the majority will be built for right handed players. In this article, I'm going to help you solve this problem by bringing you a list of the best left handed golf clubs around.

⭐️ Overview

I reviewed some of the most sought-after golf clubs that are easily available for left-handed golfers. I chose the best option for each club in the bag and also included a package set for beginners. If you don’t have time to read my full review, here’s a quick summary of my findings:

4.9/5
4.9/5

Background

I’ve been pretty lucky when it comes to finding golf clubs. I don’t really need anything out of the ordinary; my physical build is pretty typical and I play right handed.

One of the regulars in my Sunday four-ball plays leftie though, and it’s clear that being a left handed golfer is a love-hate relationship.

Left handed clubs can be cheaper than buying the right handed version. This is because sellers have less interest from buyers, which works out to be an advantage.

But finding the right clubs can take FOREVER.

Some brands help you out and allow you to choose the left handed version of their clubs online. However, many popular discount golf stores don’t even let you choose a different shaft, let alone change the club’s orientation.

Best left handed golf clubs

Phil Mickelson is one of my heroes, and probably the most famous leftie in the world. I have a big soft spot for people who play left handed and it’s all down to him.

Cool fact: Phil is actually right handed, but learned to play golf leftie as he watched his father swing right handed and mirrored his style. 44 PGA tour wins later, it’s probably safe to say that it paid off!

If you’ve read any of my other articles, you’ll know that I spend a lot of time reviewing golf clubs. I literally spend hours running through my favorite golf clubs, and researching which of those clubs are options for left-handed golfers.

Without any more waiting, here’s my list of the best left handed golf clubs on the market right now.

3. Callaway Apex 21 DCB Irons Set

Working my way down the bag let's take a look at the irons. I reviewed these irons pretty recently and absolutely fell in love with them. I was always a big fan of the Callaway Apex irons, and to see them bringing out a cavity back forged iron just screamed inclusivity for me. What's even better is that they're available for lefties too!

5. TaylorMade Spider X Putter

It doesn't matter if you're right-handed or left-handed... one thing's for sure -  your putter is the most important club in the bag. If the flat stick isn't working, there's a slim chance that you'll shoot a low score. This rings true in the professional game, and the Spider X putter is one of the most popular putters on the PGA tour for a good reason.

Let's start this review off by looking at a club everyone loves hitting; the driver! My driver of choice after their latest release is the SIM2 Max from Taylormade. This is a club that I reviewed earlier, and I have to say that it's one of my favorite driver releases ever.

The build process has been linked to the construction of a F1 racing car. Where each tiny component is stripped and made more efficient bit by bit. What you're left with is a product that's optimized to perform at the highest level.

The TaylorMade team consists of some of the best engineers in the world, but they've also worked with the best golfers in the world too. Being the golf nerd that I am, I watch a lot of TaylorMade's YouTube videos. It's awesome to see this driver in the hands of some of the world's best players like Dustin Johson and Rory McIlroy.

The technology used in this thing is just mind blowing. Thru-Slot Speed Pockets and Speed Injected Twist Face helps provide incredible ball speeds, while the Split Mass Weighting helps deliver awesome forgiveness.

The Max version from the SIM2 range offers a bigger and more forgiving head profile than the standard version. This means it looks inviting to golfers of all abilities. I love the SIM2 Max and consider it to be the best driver for left-handed golfers on the market.

The Cobra Radspeed range is another release that I was really impressed with. I was lucky enough to do a review of their Radspeed driver and wasn't surprised to learn that the Radspeed fairway woods are fantastic clubs too.

The Radial weighting used in the driver is also present in the fairway woods. This means that the weight is moved relative to the center of gravity in order to optimize speed as well as forgiveness.

If you're a player who wants to see a little more ball speed, you're in safe hands. Golf's biggest hitter Bryson Dechambau, uses Cobra clubs and the technology they use to enhance ball speed is incredible. The CNC Milled Infinity Face helps the milled area expand by 95% to help widen the zone of maximum ball speed.

I'm a player who loves to use my 3 wood off the tee, especially when my driver isn't playing ball. The Cobra Raspeed fairway woods are the perfect tool for the job because of the excellent speed and forgiveness they offer. This helps you find the fairway off the tee without giving up much distance at all. These things are great from the fairway too and feel super easy to hit. I'd recommend these for any lefties looking for a 3 wood to hit bombs with.

Although the DCB (deep cavity back) irons do have a cavity, they look absolutely sublime. When I first saw these I could barely even tell the difference between them and the regular Apex forged model.

What's so good about them is that they provide the forgiveness that most mid to high handicappers need. What's more is that you get the buttery forged feel that you could only associate with forged irons. If you want an iron that's forgiving and as pure as they come, you've got to try the DCB from the Callaway Apex 21 range!

Now we're keeping the Callaway theme running from the irons through to the wedges, and all for good reason. The player with perhaps the best short game ever is Phil Mickleson, also known as leftie and a brand ambassador for Callaway.

I can personally vouch for these wedges, with my 60 degree MD5 lob wedge being my favorite club in the bag. A man who knows a couple of things about wedges is Callaways designer Roger Cleveland who shaped these stunning wedges. You'll notice the subtle design changes between the head shape in the traditional sand and lob wedge through to the gap and pitching wedges. This helps players effortlessly adapt from the wedges to their set of irons.

Available in an array of loft, bounce and shaft options, these offer true customization for the left-handed golfer. If you're looking for a set of wedges that are used by the best of the best when it comes to left handed golfers, look no further than the Callaway Mack Daddy 5 Jaws.

It's fantastic at helping you line up putts thanks to the True Path Alignment System. This gives you very clear feedback on whether you're lined up correctly over a putt. You get the confidence you need when standing over the ball to make more aligned putts.

The weight ports also allow for personalization to help you dial in the best feel for your stroke. The head is 30% heavier after a redesign. This will improve MOI by reducing twisting through the stroke. This is a putter that's as forgiving as anything out there and makes lining up your putts a dream, that's why I consider it to be the best left handed putter.

If you're a left-handed golfer who's just started playing, this next set might be just what you're looking for. It's a complete set that comes with every club you'd need to play golf as well as a carry bag. This makes the set a perfect choice for people just getting into golf who want to buy their first set of clubs. The set comes with a driver, a 3 wood, a 5 hybrid, irons up to pitching wedge, and a putter. All of the clubs are highly forgiving, the driver has a 460cc head and the irons are cavity back. The mallet putter offers good MOI and is very beginner-friendly. All in all, This set offers great value for anyone that's looking for a full set of left-handed clubs. It certainly won't break the bank and is good enough to keep you going for some time. If you're interested in learning more about the Callaway Strata set, I reviewed them in more depth here.

⛳️ - Are left handed golf clubs more expensive?

Golf clubs for left handed people are usually not any more expensive than right handed clubs. Left handed golf clubs can be harder to find, however, as the majority of the golfing world play right handed.

That said, there are still plenty of manufacturers that make options for left handed players and they tend to price the clubs the same. You might even find yourself some great second hand deals with less buying demand for used left handed golf clubs.

⛳️ - Is golf harder for lefties?

Golf is the same game whatever your orientation is. It might be harder for left-handed players to find clubs or instructional videos they can relate to but ultimately, golf is not harder for left handed players.
